Implosion: “a phenomenon accompanying the break-
down of a prevailingly depressive enclosure”… A
transition between one state and another, from
existence to nothingness, the implosion is an interval
which marks the end of a condition. A cloud of
heterogeneous debris sweeps over the suburbs.*
Modern day Pompei takes on the form of a blazing
cloud. This magnificent blast announces the moment
at which a world is destroyed. For a few moments, the
formal perfection of the clouds and the dissolution of
the principal solids, demonstrates the most perfect
illustration of euthenics.
